Four Agreements Explained

This path begins with the four agreements. These are new ways of life that you can voluntarily follow. These agreements are: The most harmful of these agreements confirm that you are never enough; That you are constantly lagging behind a strange ideal. The result? The agreements you have made, knowingly and unknowingly, are the fundamental source of suffering and aspiration in your life. Worse, they make you a vector of suffering in the world around you. I like what you`re saying. If you`ve written a book about your spontaneous chords, I`ll read it. If the agreements are sometimes too simplified, it is still a small book with some heavy ideas. Focusing on one of these chords can dramatically improve your life and reduce stress; Focusing on all four can really change a lot of people`s lives. If followed in a general and non-fanatical way, these proposals can help you reduce a large amount of stress by helping you avoid patterns of thought and behavior that create frustration, accusations, hurt emotions and other negative emotions. I also found it strange to judge a book about the behavior of a person who claims to have read it and about the elderly who are the ancestors of the author of the book. That is why I did not respond to Cccc`s comment. If the commentator explains why he/she thought the four chords meant that people were behaving ruthlessly and selfishly, I might have received an answer.

As things stand, I agree with the idea that —Toltec or not – these principles are a healthy way of life and are consistent with the good practices supported by modern psychology: the four agreements show us that there is another way. By freeing ourselves from the structures and expectations of society, we can enter into new agreements for ourselves. If you like the job or the job you do, you will do your best without even trying. Your work will feel effortless and you will get much better results. This final agreement will help you increase the power of other agreements while stripping yourself of old patterns. One of the most important teachings of wisdom in the Toltec tradition is that we all dream — to dream of a unique vision and experience of the universe. It`s at the beginning of “The Four Accords,” and my experience is that a lot of people slip into that part and go to the chords. That`s all for this book! Don Miguel`s words are so simple, but so powerful.

I hope you have learned a lot about the origin of your old beliefs and rules and how to adopt new agreements to live better in the future. We learn how to act and what we should believe and accept as normal. Ruiz says we should ask ourselves why we accept them and live because we have not chosen these rules and agreements. As for intransition, this word certainly has the connotation of perfectionism, and if we take it that way, we would indeed go crazy. (Besides, the impeccability and other agreements you make with yourself, not the requirements that Ruiz imposes on you.) On the other hand, if you engage perfectly with your word as your goal, if you commit to be as honest and kind as possible with your words, without waiting for perfection of yourself or to fight if you are too short, this agreement could improve your well-being with yourself.
